In one week
Posted by kara
Toshi will start daycare in one week. I feel like this is going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I already feel stressed out. I’ve forgotten how terrible stress is. It just weighs on my mind and ruins everything. All of the basics that I worry about for Toshi will be challenged: Her happiness (she is starting to cry whenever I put her in the Baby Bjorn which will be how I carry her on the bus for the hour commute), her feedings (she is still not taking a bottle), and her sleep (will she sleep in the crib with all of the noise?).
Plus, getting both of us ready in time for the early bus will be a daily challenge. Today I woke up at 5:30am and I had us ready by 7:50am. I put her in the Bjorn and we walked out the door, down the steps and turned around once I saw it was raining. Whoops. Forgot about that possibility. It was a good trial run though.
All of the trouble of getting us ready, getting us to daycare and work on time, trying to keep Toshi from crying, trying to make sure she eats and sleeps well, and hoping she can handle the stress without messing up her home sleep…. it makes me want to just give up now and stay at home. I feel like I’m going to have time for nothing. I’m going to be strapped for time at work with the pumping and strict hours (so I don’t pick up Toshi late) and then I’ll come home and try to take care of Toshi and the house. Plus I’m going to try to go to bed early so I can wake up early. How do people do this? Is this worth it? I guess I don’t know until I try.
