Happy April

Little Toshi Anne seems to be doing okay. She is still coughing in the middle of the night. And sometimes she sounds like a lawn mower when she breathes. But other than that, she is smiling and enjoying the world. The past two days have been pretty sunny and not super cold. I can’t wait for it to warm up a little so she won’t have to bundle up. Plus, then maybe her cold will finally go away.

Yesterday Toshi and I went to UPS to pick up a package. (Note to Dad: Send packages to work address again.) I was in crazy-mode and didn’t think anything through. I parked in one of the last spaces. I tried to get her out of my side of the car because I assumed there was more room on my side. (Later I found out the other side was quite spacious.) Then I thought that I would carry her car seat instead of get out the stroller. So I lugged her toward the building, only to find out I had parked in front of the wrong building. I crossed another parking lot to the right building. Once I got in line, I immediately realized that if the package was big or heavy, I might be in trouble. I only had one hand free and I was already sweating from carrying her. Luckily, the package was small and light. Phew! Our UPS trip was a success! Toshi proved she could handle an errand after a full day at daycare.

This weekend Paul is taking me out to dinner for an early birthday celebration. Aunt Karen and Uncle Dave are watching Toshi. My goal is to order dessert. Maybe a drink, but probably not. I still feel guilty when I order a drink or buy alcohol. I should wear a sign that says, “I’m 28.” That way I won’t feel like the waiter thinks he is letting me get away with something. Anyway, it should be a good time. Hopefully we won’t wolf down our food like we normally do. I think I eat twice as fast since Toshi came along.

Here are some cute pics of Toshi in her dot outfit. I love this outfit– it was a gift from Nick and Sarah.
