Green beans

Posted by kara

This morning I made green beans for Toshi. I hope the neighbors didn’t hear the blender. (7:00am seems so much later when you have a baby.) Anyway, Paul kept saying, “I know how this is going to go. She’s not going to like it.” I knew he was probably right, but I hoped that maybe she wouldn’t know better and she would just think it was a tasty change from plain rice cereal.

This is how it went:

(That first picture reminds me of my Uncle Bill for some reason…) She took two tiny bites and refused to eat more. I ended up mixing it with a lot of rice cereal and she ate it. I gradually made it more green beany and she kept eating it. Then I tried plain green beans again, and she wouldn’t go for it at all. Hopefully she likes it next time!

Toshi is also clapping… kind of. She brings her hands together when she’s happy. She doesn’t actually make any clapping sounds, but it’s a start.

Lately I just have a couple of blankets on the ground and a lot of her toys scattered around. I’m sure she doesn’t need all these toys out, but I get bored with just a couple of them. So far, one of my favorite toys are these stacking/connecting/nesting bath cups. She loves them!

Then again, she’ll play with just about anything.
