Grown up

Yesterday Toshi and I went to lunch with my old work buddies Laura and Aaron. Toshi was so good รขโฌโ I was very relieved. She quietly played with her toys and occasionally talked to us. It was very good to get caught up with my old pals! After lunch, Toshi and I shopped a little. By the time we got home, it was mid-afternoon!
I also made homemade pizza (from scratch) for the first time. It turned out better than I thought it would. I was just shooting for ‘edible’ but it actually reached ‘good enough’! I get paranoid about things not cooking all the way through, so I usually overcook chicken and stuff like that. I couldn’t tell when the crust was done, so I kept putting the timer on for 5 more minutes. Finally I decided that I would only do 5 more minutes and then I would take it out no matter what. The timer went off and when I opened up the oven, I saw that the cheese was completely brown. All of it. Brown. Nuts. So it was a bit crispy, but at least it tasted like pizza. I think I could have gone a little heavier on the spices in the sauce and maybe a little more sugar in the dough. Still, I’ve opened the door to homemade pizzas and now I can experiment until I get it right.
Today when I was feeding Toshi her yummy sweet potatoes, I was just amazed at how much she has grown. A year ago, she was just a fat belly. Then she was born and she was a crying/sleeping machine. And now she is sitting up, helping me guide the spoon into her mouth. She is getting very good at controlling her arms and hands. I love how she now will grab onto my arms and squeeze them when I hold her. She is also starting to reach for me when I’m nearby. Mainly because she wants to suck on my arm, but still… it’s sweet.
And a cute outfit that has little flowers and ladybugs on her shirt and pants.
