Toshi in a half shell

And so it continues… the laundry basket is a very fun toy. Recently, she added some movement to her basket game. I thought it was pretty hilarious. But alas, it does cause some static hair problems.

In other news, her second tooth is definitely up. Not all the way up, but it has cut through. So now she has two lower teeth, and her bites are painful!

The other day when we were on our walk, I gave Toshi some Cheerios to eat from her stroller tray. A while later, I noticed there was an uneaten Cheerio. I told her, “Toshi, there is one Cheerio still left.” And she sat up straight, pulled herself to peer into the tray, and grabbed the Cheerio. I thought it was excellent proof that she understands some words. I’ve tested her several times, saying different things, but it’s hit or miss. Still, it’s exciting that she is starting to piece language and meanings together. We are one step closer to her understanding my commands!  Although following my commands may be another story.

All in all, today was a good day because I got lots of Toshi affection. I caught her in a very calm mood and was able to give her lots of Eskimo kisses. And then she grabbed my face and pulled it closer to suck on my chin. I’ll count that as a very nice Toshi kiss.
