Hare today, gone tomorrow
Posted by kara
I remember my Uncle Bill telling me the story of Little Rabbit Foo Foo when I was young. We were in the mini-van, driving somewhere, and he would tell us about LRFF who kept scooping up the field mice and bopping them on the head. [I just looked it up and it is actually little bunny foo foo, and ‘goon’ tomorrow, but that’s not how I remember it.] Anyway, it seemed like a slightly odd story and I wasn’t sure if my uncle was making it up or if it was a well-known story. But then again, with UB you never really know if he’s joking around or telling the truth. I always assume he’s joking (to be on the safe side).
Er… I guess that is a big explanation for my lead-in. Sometimes when I think of ‘hair’ I think of that story of LRFF.
And yesterday I got my hair cut! The last time I had a haircut was March. It was looking pretty raggedy, and I was tired of the same haircut that I always get. I told the hairstylist that I was open to anything, as long as it didn’t require more than a couple minutes of styling. She opted for probably the safest haircut imaginable: a shoulder-length bob with some layers. And then she said she was going to give me soft angled bangs.
As you can see, the angled bangs aren’t really working for me. They get in my eyes all the time and look like a mistake. It might be because I have a bunch of short hairs around my face that are growing in from when my hair fell out after Toshi was born. Ah well. I like the haircut enough so far.
But of course, the real test is the day-after, when I don’t do any styling to my hair!
Hahahhhh….. yes. This is what I’ll actually look like. Maybe I’ll try to style my hair for special days, but even that is doubtful. At least my hair looks a little more in check now.
And for those of you who care more for Toshi, than my hair (probably everyone, right?):
Here she is in an adorable dress sent from AJ. Toshi is really working on walking. And she is getting very good at standing up, almost totally without help. She will pick up a red pillow and stand. It looks like she’s a little baby weightlifter. Toshi is also saying “Hi” a lot (especially to her animal paintings). And for those of you with glasses, it is unsafe for you to lay down on the floor. She will crawl up to you and snatch your glasses. Hopefully she is learning the meaning of ‘gentle’ but I wouldn’t count on it yet.
