What’s up there? What’s up there?

That is one of Toshi’s favorite games. Paul invented it: Paul holds Toshi. Toshi looks up. Paul looks up and says, “What’s up there? What’s up there?” Then he slowly snaps his head back down to look at Toshi and she smiles. Luckily, she lets me play it too. It’s one of the few times that she will stay still enough for me to give her an Eskimo kiss.

Tonight we watched the VP debate. Bro Paul came over for sloppy joes, potatoes, and apple crisp. Hopefully he didn’t mind the Toshi distractions. Probably not, because after a couple of questions, we all could tell what was happening. What I take away with me is confidence in Biden and a fear of Palin being in a very powerful executive position.

Toshi wants a change, but not a change of diaper. (Bad segue intended!) She has been fighting a lot of her diaper changes. She’ll try to turn onto her stomach, or not let me hold her legs up, or grab her diaper from under her, or push whatever she is holding into her poopiness. I dread the poopy diapers because it usually means poop everywhere. I hope this is a phase that will quickly fade.

Today I gave her another vocabulary test and she passed two out of three. I asked her where Shiro was and she brought me the right stuffed animal. Then I asked for Moxy and she brought me Moxy. Then I asked where Barry was and she couldn’t figure it out. We are just starting to play with Barry more, so I think she doesn’t know his name yet. Plus I’m not sure if Paul calls that stuffed animal Barry. I named almost all of her stuffed animals one day and I didn’t tell Paul any of their names yet. They aren’t very clever names.

Okay. I think I’m turning in. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
