To Market, To Market

This Halloween, I made Toshi a brilliant costume. I had my heart set on Toshi fulfilling my dream of being an Ewok, but then when Paul suggested Frodo, I thought that was pretty fitting with her curly hair. Not to mention, a lot easier to fabricate. So I made her a boxy vest, sewed a leaf onto a safety pin, cut some green fabric for a cape, braided a necklace and knit a ring. It was a little hard getting her into the costume. She doesn’t like anything around her neck or on her head. So she kept pulling at the necklace and would tug at the cape when she felt it. The cape didn’t work out how I wanted it to because I couldn’t get it tight around her neck. I didn’t fuss with it though… it was enough of an accomplishment just getting it on her!

We walked to Market Street, where stores give away candy to trick-or-treaters. Toshi waved and said “Hi!” to lots of people on the way. There were lots of kids with fun costumes. I saw a lot of fairies, a cute dragon, a fun fish, a coffee cup, baby bees, and lots of animals. I’m not sure anyone knew what Toshi was, but that’s okay. Brother Paul met up with us and we walked home for our spooky Halloween meal (Thai and tapioca).
