Family fun day #2
Posted by kara
This has been a very exciting weekend in Indy. Paul’s sister Laura had her second baby girl on Saturday. I think they may name her Madeline Elaine, but that has not been confirmed. I can’t wait to meet my new niece at Christmas!
This has been a very non-happening weekend in Seattle. Yesterday we took a walk, and then Paul took Toshi to the park around the corner. Then bro Paul came over for some burritos and the Step Brothers movie. So today we decided to do a family fun day. After a morning of no-naps, we decided to take our sleepy baby downtown to see if we could catch any holiday festivities. We went to the Fairmont Hotel to see the Teddy Bear Suite and the gingerbread house creation. I stayed with the stroller while Paul took Toshi up the stairs to see the gingerbread house. He said it was okay, but not necessarily worthy of the glass case display. Then we went up to the Teddy Bear Suite. I think I had built it up in my head. I pictured dozens of giant teddy bears dressed up in different costumes. It was more like a hotel room with a giant teddy bear for a photo op, holiday decorations, and a bed of books… I took 5 horrible pics and only deleted 1 of them. Here are the other four.
I thought about taking another one by the bear, but there was a little toddler and baby in the middle of their photoshoot. They were very cute! So we left the hotel and headed for Macy’s to get a little shopping in (my request, of course). Macy’s was hectic. It reminded me of why I don’t like holiday shopping. Too much clutter and too many people! All in all, it was nice to get out and make an effort to try something festive. I love doing that kind of thing.
Now I must get going because bro Paul is over here cooking dinner. Yay!
