Uncle Billy Bye Bye Game

Posted by kara

Uncle Bill stopped by today. Toshi couldn’t wait for him to hold her. After a while, Uncle Bill handed Toshi to me. Toshi asked for down, then ran to UB and asked for uppa.

When it was time for UB to leave, she made up a game. She would start by giving Rody (her bouncy orange donkey toy) a zerbert. Then UB says, “Bye bye.” Another zerbert. Another bye bye. Then Toshi runs to UB and gives his arm a hug. UB kisses the top of her head. Repeat at least 10 times.

Toshi has taught me a couple things about hugs. I’ve always liked hugs, but I never knew how utterly happy they can make me when I get a little hug from her. There is something so sweet about getting a hug from a little baby/toddler/kid. I can’t pinpoint why it is so sweet. I remember when I was little, I’d always give a hug to relatives when it was time to say good-bye. I now wonder if my little hugs were as nice as Toshi’s. If so, I wish I would have given more hugs.

I have also learned that watching Toshi give hugs gives me just as much joy as being the recipient. I love to see Toshi run to her UB to give him a big hug. I like how she gets excited when Uncle Paul walks in the door and she keeps waving and saying hi to him. I guess it’s nice to see her already loving her family so much.
