First off: Happy birthday, Mom! Can’t wait to see you soon!

Today I gave Toshi a little piece of my tasteless blueberry banana muffins. She grabbed it and said, “Thank you, Mama!” It was so neat! That is the first time she has thanked me without me (or Paul) telling her to.

Also, she has been playing with the Swiffer. One day she kept running into things like the door, her chair, kitchen stools, etc. And every time she hit something, she would say, “Sorry.” I thought that was great that she made the connection that hitting something might call for a “sorry.” It’s just so rewarding to see her pick up meanings of words and use them in new situations without me telling her.

It’s been busy the past couple of week. I’m trying to keep cool (read: find indoor A/C places or hideout in the basement) and do work on a lot of freelance projects. My parents are coming in a couple of days, so I’m hoping to put them to work! (The house has been pretty neglected…)
