My conversations
Posted by kara
After our snack, Toshi tried to reach for her train on the table. It was too far away, so she stood up and started climbing the table. Then she realized it was really fun being on the table. She lays down on the table.
Me: Uhhh, what are you doing?
Toshi: Oh, I’m just hanging out on the table.
Me: Uhhh, what are you doing?
Toshi: Hanging out on the table.
Me: You need to get down. We don’t lay on top of tables.
Later, Toshi holds up her tennis racket.
Toshi: STOP, Mommy! This is a tip tic.
Me: It’s a what?
Toshi: A tip tic. STOP!
Me: A stop sign? A traffic light?
Toshi: A tip tic. STOP!
Later Paul comes home and she calls her tennis racket a tip tic again.
Me: What’s your tennis racket?
Toshi: A tip tic.
Me: What is a tip tic?
Toshi: My tennis racket. Come on, Mommy!
Maybe you had to be there… but I enjoy my conversations with my 2 year old because she makes it seem like everything she is doing is perfectly normal.
