Easter Holiday Fun

Posted by kara

Holidays are getting more and more fun. Toshi is starting to look forward to holidays (and birthday parties) and enjoying the fun parts of the holidays. She has been looking forward to Easter ever since she saw a Max & Ruby episode about an egg hunt and a chocolate chicken. (She even made it into a game involving an egg hunt with a chocolate chicken chase at the end.) This year, the Easter Bunny gave her a chocolate bunny. I was surprised she didn’t do the chase part once she saw it. Maybe she just wanted to eat it. She also got a jump rope, sand/water kit (bucket, shovel, rake, watering can, etc.), kite, coloring books, and clothes.

Anyway, on Saturday, we went to the zoo for their egg hunt. For ages 3 and under, they had a special area where they pretty much just dumped eggs on the ground. It was so cold and windy. I was ready to leave after 3 minutes…

It was so easy, that Toshi started filling up her basket, then taking them out one by one and arranging them on the ground.

Then we took shelter in the carousel. I love that Toshi rode it with one hand on the pole, and one arm around Daddy’s neck.

We went to go see the hippopotamus with noodles on his back. We saw a few more animals, then headed home. It was cold! (And I was hungry.)

After naps, we dyed eggs. Toshi even made one for Uncle Moe. She also made one for Uncle Paul and crushed it just by squeezing it. She loved her purple Toshi egg and kept asking Daddy to take pictures of it.

Easter morning was nice and early. She did her egg hunt and stopped to eat the Cheerios out of each egg she found. She also loved her Easter basket prizes!

After her nap, we went to Aunt Karen’s for dinner. It was delicious and bountiful as usual! Toshi had a blast doing more egg hunts and hiding eggs for others to find. She also enjoyed dancing to the Wii game Just Dance. I think she had a really nice Easter.
