Baby shower and doctor visit

Remember how my friends sent gifts and made that cool Predictions book? Here are some photos I stole from Mandy.

We went to the doctor yesterday for her 5 day check-up. He said everything looks great. We’ll do an ultrasound at Week 4 to check the fluid in her kidneys. Martha was pretty average! 20.5″ for length (75th percentile), 7lbs 3oz (50th percentile), and head circumference was 35.5cm (50th percentile). And today we went to the hospital to have her hearing checked. She passed!

I’m feeling a lot better. I remember after Toshi was born, it took several weeks to feel somewhat normal. And now I already feel somewhat normal! It’s so nice to feel capable of doing small things like stand up and walk around. Now if we could just get her to sleep on her own at night… then we’d all feel a lot better!

Even Toshi heard her crying last night. She woke up and I put her back to bed while Paul started his baby shift. This morning, I asked why she woke up and she said it was because the baby was crying loudly. She then suggested that maybe we should put the baby back in mommy’s belly so we wouldn’t hear the crying. Heh. But she still tells me she loves her baby sister.
