Martha Claus

“Martha, you look like Santa!” Toshi said. It was true. Martha had a big oatmeal beard.
Martha likes to hold toys and blankets up to her forehead. (I guess it’s the highest she can hold them with her short baby arms.) And for some reason, she reminds me of my dad in the picture of her clapping the two rings together.
I also love that she is now quietly saying syllables. I am pretty sure she once whispered, “Dabba dabba doo.” (Not in this movie clip.) (And her clapping her shoes when I asked is a coincidence.)
Sometimes Toshi likes to pick out her clothes. She in convinced that things match if they are the same color. So on Feb 15th, she wore her red Paul Frank Valentine monkey shirt with her red leggings to school. And the next day, she wore a pink shirt with the same color pink leggings. The other day she picked out this outfit. Not too shabby!
And I’m obsessed with getting pics of me and Marf. I think I’m worried I’ll forget how it felt to hold my baby. I love holding my babies. And after seeing how quickly Toshi grew (she is now over half my height), I’ve been trying to relish having a small chubby baby to carry. [Fun Fact: I stopped growing in 6th grade, so I may only have another 9 years at most to be taller than Toshi.] My kids better let me hold them even when they are bigger than me.
