Vacation #2 LA

A month ago, I flew to LA with Toshi, Martha, and my brother Paul. (Husband Paul used up a lot of vacation for Vacation #1.) We met up with my parents and David/Molly/Gus. We stayed in a really nice rental house that had a finished garage game room and a pool. Of course, there was lots of good food… Paul cooked some, we went out, and family brought us food.

We went to Laguna Beach for a few hours. We ate some super delicious food at Tommy Bahama. (Who knew they owned restaurants too?) It was fun.

Toshi went to the aquarium.

Instead of taking a nap, Toshi found all the toys and dress up clothes under the bunk beds. I was really hoping she wasn’t going to find that.

We did a lot of hanging out. The game room was the perfect place for the kids to run around and play. Toshi and Gus loved playing with each other.

But the real reason we were there, was for the big reunion! My grandma’s family is outrageously big. I think she is one of eight kids. So you can imagine how many cousins are at this reunion. Anyway, it was a great time and so fun to see everyone, even if we only got to talk for a couple of minutes. (It also made me feel old… all the little kids are in college now.) I love seeing my grandma with her sister Haru. When they get together, they are like two little girls. And I got to see Uncle Sumi, whom I adore. And my cousin Amy and her boys. And my cousin Jen that I haven’t seen for 6 years. Toshi also had fun.
