More video! Here is some older stuff from August. I can tell it’s August because Martha has the ID sticker on her back that we got when she was tested at the lab. Toshi loves playing with her sister. She also loves patting her on the head and hugging her.

This is a longer one. I didn’t edit it too much because Toshi was trying to tell a story/make a commercial. She is saying words, but I’m not sure if they always make sense strung together (kind of like some politicians). Anyway, you can also see the sister dynamic: Marf wants whatever Toshi has and Toshi keeps it out of reach. Plus, Marf does not like to be told no.

Toshi also likes to lightly put things on Marf’s head so she doesn’t realize it’s there. But what she really likes doing, is telling Martha the rules. Sometimes she makes up the rules (don’t we all) and sometimes they really are what Marf should be doing. It’s funny though, because when she makes up rules, they sound so arbitrary, but they sound like something we’d say. When Marf dropped her milk cup on the ground and whined to get it back, Toshi picked it up and said she couldn’t have it anymore because she dropped it. Then Toshi handed her the water cup and said she had to take a sip of that before she got the milk cup. Then Marf dropped the water cup on the ground. Toshi put the milk cup on Marf’s tray and said she couldn’t have the water cup until she took a sip of the milk. I think Toshi is enjoying being the rule-maker for once.

Now that Marf is walking, I can’t hear her shuffle crawl anymore. I hear footsteps and never know if it’s Toshi or Marf sneaking up on me. Marf has surprised me a couple of times. I think it’s Toshi hugging my leg, but when I look down, it’s the Marfster. I feel like the next year will be full of fun cute times. I’m hoping Martha will skip over the terrible two’s and tantrums like Toshi did… but does lightning strike twice?
