I Love Weddings

I do. I love how happy weddings are. I love how you can get a real sense of the couple. I love all the love! Not to mention, the fun details…

Toshi had the honor of being a flower girl for Rathy and Bruce. (Bruce is Paul’s old co-worker and they make iPad apps together.) First off, we got an awesome invite. It was pretty much a designer’s dream, complete with perfect illustration and double-sided letterpress. The logo and illustration were carried throughout their wedding materials: name cards, table numbers, and guest ‘book’ which was actually a wooden board that was wood burn etched. Inside the silk screened bags were funky mini vinyl toys. Awesome.

Toshi loved wearing her flower girl dress and carrying the silk basket. One of the bridesmaids fixed up Toshi’s hair. The bridesmaids wore sea foam color chiffon short dresses with pretty rouching (how do you spell that?!). Aha! I found it online. I know Jamus and Ariana will appreciate this. Marf wore a cute gray polka dot silk dress that Toshi never wore. She smiled so big when we put on the fancy dress.

And now for the bride! Rathy wore a gorgeous dress with a train. It definitely was a little bit of an A-line, but it looked so floaty and easy. She had a really cool belt with jeweled bling. And of course, she looked flawless as always. She was so kind to Toshi (and Marf because Marf wanted to be included too). Rathy sat with her, danced with her, and gave Toshi attention on her big day. Toshi is a big fan of Rathy and Bruce-Bruce.

Not to be completely outdone, the groom and his guys looked pretty spiffy too. Their gray suits looked cool and of course, they all had brand new hip sneakers. (I hear stories of Bruce’s shoe collection.) Later they revealed that they were all wearing funky socks, too. You might be able to see it in the photo of Rathy sitting down.

Of course, they had some pretty fun music. I must admit that I was secretly overjoyed to hear Boys II Men in the bridal suite. Maybe I should download some B2M. Their first song was Brian McKnight’s Back at One. And I think one of the first upbeat songs was I Gotta Feelin’, so now I have those three songs in my head.

The best part wasn’t even the awesomeness of the wedding they put together. It was pretty obvious that Bruce and Rathy were good together and appreciated it. I teared up at their cute, real vows. And I loved when Bruce gave a little speech about how much he appreciated his family and friends and especially his best friend, Rathy. What a great wedding. So glad I got to see it all.
