Seven Years of Seattle
Posted by kara
Seven years of Seattle brought us many good things. We got to know our Seattle relatives well and watch Katie and Kristen grow from kids to responsible teens. We had two babies that grew into kids way too fast. Paul climbed up pretty high in his company, and made some great friends. I found a couple of companies that I really enjoyed (my coworkers were fun). And then I got to stay home and spend time with my kids– the best thing ever (thank you, Paul). I got to hang out with Mandy and then I got to know Luke. They are two of the nicest, easiest-to-get-along-with people and I will miss them way too much. (But Mandy will email me every day, right?) We got to live on a houseboat and go kayaking off our deck. We saw water and mountains almost every day. I learned to love nerdy board games. My brother cooked us amazing meals. We gorged on delicious cupcakes made from local ingredients (okay it was just me).
There is just so much we love about Seattle. Kinda breaks my heart to leave. But then again, it really breaks my heart to not be near our parents. So off we go, to test the waters of the Midwest, and watch our children grow with their cousins and grandparents. It will be an adjustment, but I think it will be good. And Mandy will totally email me every day.
