Creative thinking

Toshi has been doing a bunch of little things that are pretty neat. I am fascinated with how she see things and how she figures things out. Unfortunately, this means that some of the old tricks don’t work on her anymore (remember the days when I could block off an area with a pillow?). Yesterday she switched on her basketball hoop. Yup, be prepared for loudness at 6am. She also is starting to say “no?” when you tell her it’s time to change her diaper. She just repeats it over and over, and it makes me want to laugh, but I try not to. And today I saw her stand on her diaper wipes container to reach the printer on the cabinet. That is a big “uh-oh” to me. Once she realizes she can stand on any kind of “stool,” our baby proofing is completely inadequate.

Today she started bouncing on Rody while he was on his side. I thought that was very clever. This way, she could really touch the ground and bounce as much as she wanted. Plus she didn’t have to do her fall-over dismount.

It felt like a great reminder that kids have such open minds because they don’t discount anything. They just try try try all sorts of things. And it’s all play to them!
