Exciting weekend
Posted by kara
This weekend was chalk-full of excitement. Cousin Frank and Melody came to meet little Toshiko. We went on our first walk with them to the Locks. It was pretty cold, so the walk was short for the Mealy family.
On Saturday, Toshi had a nice time dancing with Dad to the Beatles. I got a little teary because it was so sweet (and I think I’m super emotional right now). I started thinking about Paul dancing with Toshi at her wedding… is it possible to be nostalgic for the present time?
Today Toshi’s dried up umbilical cord stub fell off! I called Paul into the room and picked up the stub. Then I felt a little weirded out and quickly handed it to him. I am so happy that now we don’t have to worry about it. Then we all loaded illegally into the Element and went to University Village– an outdoor shopping center that I love going to. Anyway, we managed to do it in less than an hour. We went to Storables so my mom could get closet organizing stuff. (Toshi’s closet is now tidy thanks to Grandma Kathy.) Then we went to Specialty Bakery so my mom could taste the delicious cookies. I’ll use anything as an excuse to get more cookies. They are soooo good. We got home before the next feeding and without having to do a diaper change. Very impressive, right?
It doesn’t get much more exciting than that!
