Manic Monday

Today Aunt Karen and Uncle Bill came over to help out with Toshi. We hung out and ate tons of cookies. It was a good time.

Then I decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone: take Toshi on a walk and buy stamps at the post office. Aunt Karen and I went to the post office and Toshi started crying. AK took her outside and walked around while I finished up the stamps. When I got outside, Toshi started crying again. She didn’t stop for another block, so I felt her and she seemed hot. I took her out of her stroller and carried her the rest of the way home. I think either she was too hot from the outfit I put her in, or she was bothered by her wet diaper (that I discovered at home). I promised her I would never put her in the cute pink outfit (the hood has ears on it) unless it got really cold. I thought it would be perfect because it was 40 degrees out and I just had her in a onesie underneath. But I learned I was wrong. Nuts. I guess I am learning something new each day.

So the other night I decided to make chocolate chip cookies so I could eat some of the dough. Toshi was in her fussy hour(s), so I mixed the dough with a wooden spoon instead of a mixer. I thought maybe I was being a bit silly– until I saw Paul army-crawl out of Toshi’s room. Then I realized that he was the silly one! (Or maybe we both are.) Apparently, Toshi only liked her swing when she couldn’t see Paul. So he was laying on the floor or something until she fell asleep. Then he army-crawled out of the room and left the door open so we could keep peeking in to check on her. Ah yes, parenting Paul/Kara-style. 😉

Besides his mastery of the army-crawl, this is why Paul rocks:

I love that Paul hangs our stockings with green and red crayons. I can’t explain it, but this makes me happy.

Okay, that’s all for now!
