Good-bye, 2009

Posted by kara

I was actually cleaning up a little bit (hasn’t happened since Thanksgiving), and I found pictures on our little camera. So, with people “just saying” things (I think someone wants a little Friday entertainment at work), I decided to post and reflect on 2009.

This year was a very good year. Toshi has grown up tremendously in the past 12 months. It’s amazing to hear the things she says. The other day she told me Christmas was going to be awesome. And it’s hilarious to see the things she does… like whenever she is sitting down and she wants to get up, she quickly tucks her legs under her and then hops up (so energetic!). Anyway, I love being at home with her, especially now that she can do so many things and tell me how we are both people and we are both friends.

This year also brought my nephew Gus, who I just can’t wait to hold. And my friend Jamus got married to wonderful Mark. And we got to host friends over for a Labor Day cookout and family over for Thanksgiving. And work has been good for both Paul and me. And our family has been healthy (pretty much).

Okay, so I can’t really think of too many things that we did in 2009, but I leave it with good feelings. I really look forward to what 2010 will bring us. It will be our 5th year in Seattle!

And I just want to write down some Toshi quotes for Paul and me to remember:
“Str-bus”
“Chippuwa”
“We’re both peoples!”
“Pink Bear, I’m hrrrrrr!”
“Alicia’s shoes! Alicia’s shoes! Go, Alicia’s shoes, go!”
“Hur-ry! Before daddy comes home!”
“Secret cookies.”
“That’s a no-no Mommy!”
“Uncle Paul’s juice.”
“That’s funny! Hahahaha!”
“Oops. I’m okay.”
“The gi-ant! The gi-ant!”
“What was thaaaaat?” (monotone voice)
“Bye-bye, Daddy! Have a goo-d day!”
