Pregnancy woes

Did I really feel this uncomfortable last time around? I still have 3.5 weeks to go, and I’m feeling like I should be dropping this baby any minute! How did I work until my due date? At least, I think that was my last day… I don’t remember. I’m struggling to work until the end of June. It’s probably because I’m hunching over my laptop computer, sitting on my folding chair. Today I got my first scare: I thought I was having a contraction! My back had been aching, and then I felt a really strong cramp that was much worse than the Braxton Hicks I’ve been having. I changed into sweatpants and laid down. I think maybe my pants were just too tight. HA….. All my clothes are too tight or small. I had to keep pulling down my shirt at the grocery store today. I think I flashed my not-so-beautiful belly to a lot of people. Whoopsies.

I also waddle a lot. I’d like to think it’s because I get so stiff after sitting/lying for too long, but I think I’m just at that point. That point of über pregnancy, where you actually look forward to the crying newborn arriving because that will mean you can lie on your back and breathe and (after a couple of weeks) walk.

Okay, I think I got enough complaining out of my system for the time being. My parents were here this weekend and I feel so much better. They got a ton of things done for me. I rested while everyone else cleaned, moved things, cooked, etc. I think we went from 30% ready for the baby to a nice solid 80%.

Toshi stories: She made up a new game: run around the coffee table, stop, jump, and say, “Super Bunny! Never to the rescue!” She’s funny. And today she was telling her baby sister that she loves her, and she gave my popped-out belly button a kiss. Then she asked me if that was the baby’s lips. Even though I said no, that it was my belly button, she decided it was the baby’s nose.
