Snow Way
Posted by kara
Toshi has a book where Mater says, “Snow way, Lightning McQueen!” So every time I look out the window, I think, “Snow way!” I’m pretty sure Paul is tired of me saying it randomly.
Anyway, yes, lots of snow (for here). There is probably about 4″ on the ground, which has turned icy. Toshi has been enjoying stomping around in the snow and making snowmen. The downside is that we are really not suited up for this. We are missing proper boots, gloves and snowpants. So after about 10 or 15 mins, I’m trying to get the girls to head inside.
When I give the girls their snacks, they run off to eat their snacks together. It makes me glad Toshi has a little partner.
Other winter fun: Painting, library walk, drawing, obsessively wearing Crocs around the house, princess crowns… you know, kid stuff.
Today Toshi threatened me with no more hugs ever again if I didn’t take her outside right then. I called her bluff and said, “Oh, I’ll miss those Toshi hugs. I love hugging my Toshi.” Then, to really drive it home, “Guess I’ll have to hug Marthy Jo extra!” That’s when she came running into my arms.
Toshi has also been calling me “Mama Jo” recently. And they both really want to play with the small purple sparkly ball (if the other one is interested in it). I feel like I’m already playing referee. Maybe I should get a whistle.
Anyway, tomorrow the snow melts, so hopefully it will be back to normal. Almost everywhere I want to drive involves at least one big hill, so it would be nice for the ice to melt. Onward!
