March 3: 3 months, 3 weeks

Today was Toshi’s first day in her real daycare room! I met a couple of the new babies. One was 10 months and the other looked to be about Toshi’s age. I think pretty soon her room will be full! I hope the other babies are good. I am a tad worried that Toshi won’t get as much attention because she is so laid back. My plan is to drop by a lot and keep them on their toes. It’s funny how being a mother makes me feel less worried about being annoying.
On Sunday, Gwen and Mandy came over. Toshi said hi to her pal Mandy and met her new pal Gwen. Toshiko can’t wait to play with the funky toy Gwen brought her: a mother and child necklace. Colorful toys hang from bungee-like cords that I wear around my neck. I’m hoping that it will keep Toshi from pulling on my earrings.
Here’s Toshiko with Gwen.
And I found this picture that Paul must have taken on Saturday while I was in my sickly slumber.
It’s our little baby Elvis! If you look closely, you can see the pillow Paul made to elevate her poor congested head. I love how she sleeps with her arms splayed.
And speaking of sickness… Paul is now suffering from a stomach sickness. It seems much worse than what I had, and let me tell you, that canNOT be good. I hope he feels better by tomorrow and hopefully he won’t have a long night like I did. It probably didn’t help that Toshi woke us up last night at 1am and we both couldn’t fall back asleep until after 3am. Yikes. I hope Toshi doesn’t get it– it’s hard enough to see her with a bad cold.
We also are hoping that Great Grandma Toshi feels better. She has been in the hospital and I think she is on the mend. I know it must be tough for her to be in the hospital for so long, not feeling well. Especially since she likes to be active. I hear the nurses all love her spunkiness– quite rare in the ICU, I bet. That’s our Great Grandma Toshi for ya!
