School Girl

Toshi started kindergarten last week. We all took her to school early in the morning and I snapped a quick pic of her with her teacher. Then she was whisked away to get settled. I did not cry, but I felt sad that it’s another milestone passed. These elementary years better not fly by like the preschool years.

As soon as we got back home, Marf says, “What can we play now?” Oh man. I had forgotten what it was like to be the sole playmate. So we did bubbles, rode her scooter, painted, and picked up sticks in the yard.

I was eager to pick up Toshi. The kindergarteners looked so cute walking in a line for parent pick-up.

I was so happy when Toshi said she made a new friend, Olivia. She is the one in the pink jacket. Today, I found out her name is actually Madison. 🙂

She is enjoying school and hasn’t complained (yet) about being woken up early in the morning. Martha is still getting used to the idea. Sometimes she walks around the house calling for Toshi. I tell her that Toshi is at school and she just smiles at me and says, “No she’s not! She’s here!” And when Toshi comes home in the afternoon, she is so glad when Martha wakes up from her nap. It’s pretty cute.
