A Taste of Summer

Today is gorgeous: 70’s and sunny. So naturally, we decided to take Toshi to Ikea. I was thinking that we were going to go to a park or something, but after doing our taxes, Paul decided that we needed a filing cabinet. I saw my opportunity to push for an Ikea trip.
Due to feeding and napping schedules, we couldn’t make it to Ikea right when it opened at 10am. I thought that going in the afternoon would be a mess. I was very pleasantly surprised. Traffic was good and there was plenty of family parking (yay for Toshi!). The store wasn’t overly crowded. Maybe because it was such a nice day out, no one wanted to spend it in the warehouse? Anyway, we got a filing cabinet, two bins for Toshi’s toys, and a plastic box for the clothes she’s outgrown. And a picture frame that may or may not fit the printout that Joseph L. gave us. I think maybe it’s all European sizes because I couldn’t find an 8×10 frame. Oh, and I did get a 50รยข hot dog… It was delicious but not filling enough. I should have gotten the meatballs.
Anyway, traffic on the way back wasn’t bad either. It was funny to see everyone in shorts and flip flops. Seattle can’t wait for summer. I laughed at them, but I’m just as guilty… I requested burgers for dinner! Paul is going to try grilling out on our balcony. I think Paul T. is also coming over for dinner and more Wire episodes!
Also, today Toshi rolled from her back to her front and was able to get her arm from underneath her. She held her head up, and then fell backwards… thus rolling from front to back! Heh. I am not counting that as rolling from front to back, but I thought it was funny that she did it on accident. She is also grabbing at glasses a lot. This morning she managed to grab Paul’s glasses and pull them off his face. She was about to eat them, but Paul traded her a stuffed hippo for his glasses. He’s so clever.
Have a great weekend!
