Belyea Baby Bliss

Posted by kara

On Tuesday, my work threw me a wonderful lunch baby shower. (I love how showers revolve around food.) Everyone was so happy that Paul was able to come downtown to celebrate with us. Laura and Joy put a lot of time and effort into making everything look perfect. We had fancy lemonade, pasta salad, fruit, veggies, pitas, hummus, and death-by-chocolate! Yum. Laura had a cool pink & brown theme going on, and she even made a matching diaper cake. That’s my buddy! Check out the table and diaper cake:

My other buddy, Aaron, gave us the cutest hat — it is brown suede with soft furry lining and little ears sewn on. We love it!

Joy and Ron bought us a cute baby outfit (complete with socks) and a soft baby blanket. Joy also gave me a bag of R&R things: candles, sparkling cider, and bath stuff. So thoughtful!

Here is a pic of Nick and Patricia. Nick gave us Jenny McCarthy’s Belly Laughs & Baby Laughs. They are quick reads and I’m already done with the Belly Laughs. There is something really comforting about hearing about other people’s pregnancies. Weird, but true.

My boss Patricia made us a beautiful quilt. It was so incredibly thoughtful and generous of her. She is just getting into quilting for her church and she said that our quilt was her first one.

Somehow my friend Laura managed to avoid the camera. Anyway, she got us the coolest little baby outfit and baby’s first pair of shoes! She also was the one who made the death-by-chocolate: brownies, mousse, cool whip, and heath crumbs. I think that might have been my favorite part of the shower….

We also have a new designer Kristin. She started on Monday and was told that we were having a baby shower on Tuesday. Heh. She is so nice and even gave us a soft, adorable ladybug rattle.

[Whoa — look at the belly on that girl!]
