It’s raining babies

Or as some would say: baby shower! Okay, maybe I did inherit my dad’s sense of humor. ;p

Anyway, it seems everyone is pregnant. Today Toshi and I celebrated one of the preggies in our life: my old coworker’s wife. She looked great! I think she’s a delightful person– always smiling and so friendly. One of those people that you instantly feel comfortable around. It was great to visit my old workplace and see everyone. I miss them and I felt like I was back amongst friends. Plus Laura made fantastic blackbottom cupcakes… one of my favorite desserts! Toshi was really good too. Phew! I think Toshiko pinched my boss’s cheek a little, but Patricia didn’t seem to mind.

One thing that came up: sweaty baby feet. Toshi definitely has sweaty baby feet. I didn’t know if it was just her since she runs a little hot all the time. Whenever I feed her, she starts to sweat. Or if she sits in her high chair too long. Or her car seat. Anyway, Ron said his babies didn’t have sweaty feet, but Laura said it was common. I think I believe Laura…

Ariana will appreciate this: I started going through my old clothes. Since it has been hot the past few days, I got out my summer clothes. I haven’t worn these clothes since 2006. Which means that it was kind of like opening a box of new clothes. I had forgotten about some of them! But it was also like opening a box of disappointment because more than half the clothes are either too small now or too outdated. My “cropped” pants from 2001 no longer look good on (I don’t know if they ever did though). The good thing is that I can wear anything at home. I told Paul I was going to bring back my funky sloppy style. I’m sure he doesn’t care as long as it means I’m not buying new clothes.

Also, Paul and I need to baby proof this apartment! I don’t have enough pillows to block off everything. I strategically place pillows in front of things I don’t want her to run into or pull down. She is really rolling around nowadays! Hopefully we’ll start baby proofing this weekend. I guess that means I might have to really clean up my desk area. Nuts.
