Wind in her hair
Posted by kara
This weekend was another laid back weekend. It seems that with the naps and general baby maintenance, it is hard to find chunks of time to do something. We had intentions of actually doing something, but by the time the afternoon rolled around, we realized we only had about an hour. Which in baby travel time, is just enough time to get packed up and make the drive there and back. So instead, my brother Paul and cousin Kristen came over and entertained Toshi.
Things that happened this weekend: watched the debate (debates are annoying), had the most delicious tomato soup ever (made by brother Paul), watched The Assassination of Jesse James (good but long), went on a couple of walks, and finished two of my Parents magazines.
Toshi is getting taller. She is also hopefully learning about bumping her head on things. Sometimes she crawls really fast into walls and her crib sides. It sounds pretty bad, but it doesn’t seem to bother her. She also bangs her head against the floor, my head, or the crown molding. But she is cocking her head to the side less. I don’t know. Babies are crazy.
One thing that has remained somewhat consistent is her love of wind. A long time ago, I fanned her with a burp cloth, and found out that she was mesmerized by it. It actually could get her to stop crying when she was around 3 months old. Now, fanning causes her great joy and she laughs and laughs. She also likes to ‘taste’ the wind…?
And isn’t this what all home movies should be like?
I gotta go. It looks like a tornado hit our living room.
