Hey, it happened to MY mom too!

Yesterday was a beautiful day. We walked around Green Lake in the morning, parking near the Small Craft Center. When we saw the lake, it looked so much bigger than I remembered. It was pretty calm and looked like a glass mirror… a pale slate blue. The sky was blue and the leaves on the trees were beautiful colors. It looked like a jigsaw puzzle scene. And Toshi waved to everyone for the first mile of the walk. A lot of women got a kick out of it and waved enthusiastically back.

Anyway, my point was that it was a perfect fall day. So when we got home that afternoon, I opened up the sliding door. Toshi was playing near the door. It’s one of her favorite place. I was cleaning up, washing things, etc., and when I looked over at Toshi, she had a mustache!

My first reaction? “Oh no! Did she swallow any of that dirt? Need a damp cloth!”

My second reaction? “Hehe… She looks funny. I need a picture.”

I took one pic and then rushed to get a damp cloth. I wiped her up, and shut the sliding door. She gets all grimey from either the screen door or the dirt around the sliding door part. I felt pretty guilty about her getting dirty and probably swallowing some of that dirt. But then, when I looked at the picture, it reminded me of a similar picture of myself as a baby. I had gotten into the ashes in the fireplace and had them smeared all over my face. So there! It turns out that MY mom (the mommiest of them all) has also had a baby get into dirty stuff. I feel a little bit better. Maybe I can still be as good as my mom. I hope so.
