Winter Wonderland

Posted by kara

I didn’t think it ever snowed like this in Seattle. Maybe up in Everett or over in Issaquah… but not in Seattle. And still, I’m sure the Ohio folk would scoff at this. I woke up today and it was already covered in snow. It just stopped snowing around 3pm. Toshi and I drove my little brother to the airport and it was terrifying: snow, icy roads, steep hills, slushy highways, hail, whiteouts. I was so tense the entire time. I think it’s just going to get icier. Should make for horrible airport runs this weekend!

Anyway, it’s the holidays. I am very excited for our trip back. It will be so fun to see Toshi around her little cousins and great to spend time with everyone. I have the best of hopes for Toshi being good on the plane. She is a pretty good kid… but she definitely likes to explore and run around. Here is a video of her walking and babbling.

For her birthday, Toshi got this little horse (donkey?) from her aunts and uncles. It is so cute and it’s funny to watch her reactions. Sometimes she looks really happy with a frozen smile and other times she looks worried or indifferent.

Anyway, I may not post before we leave. I know that the holidays can be a hard time, but we hope you all have a great one.
