The neverending story

Posted by kara

Whoa. It’s January 6th and I’m still in Ohio. On Saturday morning, Paul headed to the airport while Toshi and I headed to the urgent care. She had a cold and seemed so miserable. I have seen her with colds before, but this one seemed a lot worse. I didn’t want Toshi to have bad pain with all the pressure changes during the flight. Anyway, she was a handful at the appointment. It must have looked like a comedy routine with me trying to fill out the forms while chasing her around the waiting room. The doctor said she had sinusitis and prescribed her an antibiotic.

Toshi now seems a lot better. She still has a bad cough, a slightly runny nose, trouble drinking, and lots of gas. But she seems better. She’s eating and running around. I just hope that she is completely better by Saturday. That is when we are seriously going back to Seattle.

At my parents’ house, she likes to turn ceiling fans on and off, ride a little car around in the basement, push the Swiffer around, open up all the cabinets, and play in the bathtub. It’s been a good time, but I know she is missing her dad a ton. We made the mistake of Skyping with Paul. I thought she would get a kick out of seeing him on the computer… and she did… at first. Then she started crying when she realized that she couldn’t get to him. Poor girl. I bet she goes crazy when she sees him at the airport.

Speaking of airports… I keep giving myself pep talks about flying with Toshi alone. I pray it goes well. I think it will be hard to manage her and the luggage, but people do it, right? Five hour flight……….

Anyway, here is a pic my mom took of her in a rocking chair that my mom had when she was growing up.

And some from Christmas morning.

More later!
