Paul and I rented Spiderman 3. We started watching it tonight and right at the big fight scene, we hear knocking… We figure it’s not our door because who could it possibly be? But then the knocking got louder. So I answer the door and it’s our next door neighbor.

She said that she could hear the bass– are you watching a movie or something?

Yes we are.

Could you turn down the bass because it’s making my floors vibrate.

I’ll see what we can do.

Usually you are such good quiet neighbors. Doesn’t your boyfriend play the guitar?

Yes, my husband does.

Oh! Are you expecting? When are you due?

Heh. Any minute now.

I think I kept almost shutting the door. It was just an involuntary reaction because I wanted to shut her out. Anyway, Paul and I finished the movie at the late hour of 8:30 with our surround sound off and the volume low. I hope our almost 2 hours of movie-watching didn’t disturb her Saturday night too much.

I can’t wait for her to ask me to turn the baby’s crying down a little!
