Toshi and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Posted by kara
Poor Toshiko. Saturday was a very hard day for her. In fact, I think this past week was hard too. She has a cold and her congestion is getting worse. She now travels the apartment with her best friend, Stanley the Steamer (although it’s really a cool mist humidifier). I have taken her in to the doctors and called them. Both times they say it’s just a cold and it will get better. I can’t believe there is nothing they can do for her. She can hardly breathe and she has a terrible cough!
Anyway, on Saturday, I was sick all day. I think maybe food poisoning? I pretty much slept until 5:00 pm. Paul had to become super daddy and take care of both of us all day. Then I won the Worst-Mom-Ever award and clipped off the tip of her finger. A chunk of skin came off, Toshi screamed, and then it started bleeding. I felt horrible. She trusted me to take care of her, and I gave her the worst injury of her life (so far). Of all days. Toshi even woke up at 10 pm because she couldn’t breathe with her congestion. That’s when we moved Stanley the Steamer as close to her head as possible. Hopefully she is getting better. Amazingly, she is in pretty good spirits. She still smiles and talks away. That’s our little sweetie!
