Little details

We are waiting for Paul’s family to get in. His dad, mom, and brother have landed, and Paul is picking them up at the airport. It should be a fun (but hot) weekend!

In the meanwhile, Toshi has developed some definite likes… As you can see from the previous post, she loves the couch. Everytime I put her up there, she looks pretty content. I wonder if she just likes the view or if she likes the fact that she can bounce around and not get hurt. Today she was just crawling back and forth on the couch. (Which means I was also moving back and forth, guarding the edge.) She’d crawl to one end, and collapse on the pillow. Then she’d crawl to the other end and ram into the soft couch arm. It was as if she enjoyed the falling part. She also likes to scratch her nails against the couch. She must be part cat.

The other thing she has figured out is how to get her hair stiff without hairspray. Turns out that baby food works quite well as a hair mousse. She’ll either manage to grab onto her baby food bowl and get her fingers covered in goop, or she’ll cram her hand into her mouth, which is covered with runoff food. And once that happens, the hands go everywhere. Eyes, nose, hair, clothes, chair, tray. The hair is the worse though, because it is hard to get it out. She usually ends up with crusty curls. Bathtime might have to be upped.
