Pinked out

Not much to report. I wasn’t even going to blog, but my (soon-to-be-a-new-mommy) pal Laura requested some pics of Toshi throwing a fit. I don’t have any of when she is actually throwing a fit, because I usually just walk away. But here are a couple where she was getting really frustrated with her booster seat tray.

And of course, I have some older photos that I just got off the camera. Here she is wearing an outfit from GG (Great-Grandma) Toshi. I added some BabyLegs because the pants were a little short for the cold weather.

One thing that I have always looked forward to is doing crafts with my kid(s). Toshi is young, but not too young for some art! These are some of my favorites, but I like a lot of her drawings. I don’t know if it’s the designer in me, or the mommy in me, but I see so much talent and good design elements in her work.

Tidbits:
1. Today in the grocery store, Toshi pointed to the apples and said, “Ap-po.” I didn’t even know she could say that word! There are a lot of fun word surprises popping up.
2. One of Toshi’s favorite things is to lay belly-down on the hardwood floor. Then she’ll push herself backwards with her hands. It’s like her own little flat slide.
3. A lot of people compliment her shiny red coat and I always think it’s funny because I would have never bought that fancy coat. It’s way nicer and dressier than what I would have bought. Plus I am so cheap that I didn’t even buy her an everyday winter coat, so she always has to wear this fancy red coat when we go to the grocery store.
4. I was just thinking how my cousin’s Liam will be 2 in a few months. One time when I was riding an elevator with a small 3 month-old Toshi, a woman told me with a knowing smile that she had a 2 year-old. I remember thinking, “2 year-olds are so much older and it’s been so long since she’s had a little tiny newborn.” But now I know what that woman was thinking. It goes by fast and even though there is a world of difference between a 2 year-old and a newborn, in some ways it still feels like we just had those newborns yesterday.
5. Good luck to Laura! I hope that baby comes before we can even think of scheduling a Skype chat.
