1 year anniversary

Posted by kara

A couple of days ago, I told everyone that it was my 1 year SAHM anniversary. Turns out I was wrong. May 28th was my last day of work and May 29th was my first day of SAHMhood.

Anyway, I think anniversaries are good mile markers for reflection. I feel like it has been forever since I’ve had to rush around to get ready for work/daycare. Paul and I had a whole system for getting the three of us ready, but I don’t remember what it involved. I just remember that there was a lot to do, and I was constantly rushing.

I am very happy with my decision to stay home. I feel like the situation is better for Toshi. I can spend time with her and cater to her needs. I don’t worry that she is being ignored or mistreated. She doesn’t have to rush around usually. Plus she gets lots of time outside when the weather is good. And more selfishly, the situation is a ton better for me. I get to spend time with her and cater to her needs. I don’t worry about her, and I don’t have to rush around. I get to spend lots of time outside. She is hilarious and makes me smile and laugh more than I ever have. I get to be her mom person all day.

I know that Paul would love to be at home with her. I’m so grateful for his support. I know it’s not always easy for him to work so hard while we stay at home and play, but he does without a complaint. He is seriously the best.
