Counting
Posted by kara
It’s funny when one parent is teaching the toddler something and the other parent doesn’t know about it. Then when the clueless parent randomly starts to teach the toddler the same thing and the toddler suddenly knows it all, the parent thinks she has a genius child. That’s what happened when one day I started counting and Toshi was saying the correct number after. I said, “One two three…” And she said, “Four.” Then I said, “Five…” And she said, “Six.” Then I said, “Seven…” She said, “Eight.” And I had to finish up with nine and ten. Later Paul tells me he has been practicing with her while reading Duck & Goose 123.
I have practiced with her more, and she is really catching on. Here is a video of her counting (with her kitty blanket in her mouth).
Before we moved, I wanted to get a picture of me with Toshi in the rocking chair. I felt sentimental about all the hours I spent with Toshi in that chair when she was a newborn. So I made Paul take our picture, but Toshi did not want to sit still. Here is the best shot!
And we had a great Father’s Day… not really! Poor Paul had to work super hard entertaining Toshi and moving all our stuff. Maybe this weekend will be more relaxing. Toshi loves her Dada!
