Holiday weekend

We’ve been having a great weekend. Friday we went jogging around the lake. Toshi and Paul took off ahead of me with the jogging stroller. I met them at the playground… eventually. In the afternoon we went on errands and hopped from store to store, acquiring many fun goods like a Deadwood DVD, baby pool, new laundry basket and sand toys. Toshi tried out the baby pool and likes it. (She just pours water on her belly.) I didn’t care for all the bugs crawling on me, but maybe that will help toughen me up.

Saturday Paul got Toshi to say “motorcycle.” Later we went to my aunt’s house for a delicious bbq and some water sprinkler fun. Then we watched Deadwood at home. I could see some fireworks outside the window, which was a nice touch.

This morning we went to Alki Beach. It was actually a bit cold with the wind and not crowded. The tide was low, so Toshi and Paul could walk pretty far out. Toshi enjoyed being ‘fast baby’ out in the water. She got pretty wet but didn’t mind. I tried to stay awake on the blanket and tried to get rid of my tan lines on my feet. We left just as it was getting hot and crowded. (Perfect timing!) It was nice to see the beach and feel a little bit vacation-y. It made me miss the house boat!
