Halloween Up House
Posted by kara
This year, I thought the house from the movie Up would be fun. It felt like a DAAP project… mainly because I procrastinated and used cardboard. This was definitely not up to my craft standards, but I knew she wasn’t going to wear it for more than 2 hours. Paul had design ideas, and they ended up really making the costume better. I’m glad I listened to him (and thankful that he did most of the Photoshop work).
We went to the Market Street trick-or-treating again. It was crowded with cute kids. A lot of people told us they really liked the costume or we could hear them talking about it. I didn’t know what to say when they called her a dollhouse or tornado or Remax real estate agent. I think I just said thanks or pretended to not hear (I know I shouldn’t do that). Those that did know she was the house from Up really got a kick out of it. I think part of the thrill was that they figured it out. Oh, and we put the Up logo on the back of the house.
After Market Street we stopped by Diego’s house. We saw Diego’s cute Recycleman hero costume and Toshi enjoyed playing with his trucks. We thought she might want to hit a couple of houses with Diego, but she didn’t want to wear her costume anymore. So we went home and gave her her first taste of Hershey’s chocolate.
