Farewell, my sweet Twenties
Posted by kara
Recently I thought that turning 30 wasn’t a big deal. I thought that my thirties would be wonderful and I’d just be slightly nostalgic about my twenties. And now that I’m actually turning 30, I guess I feel a little… old.
How can this be? I just graduated college…
A lot of good stuff happened in my twenties. I met awesome friends that I want to keep forever. I managed to land the perfect Kara husband. (Every day I’m still blown away by how giving and supportive and painfully funny Paul is.) I got to live in New York, Boston, Cincinnati, Indy, and Seattle with super fun roommates. My family grew like crazy (in-laws and babies everywhere!). And I got to start the unbelievable journey of parenthood. I feel fortunate and seriously blessed.
I feel like my twenties was a hodge podge of huge events that shaped who I am. Or maybe helped me figure out who I am. And now I hope my thirties will be a time of polishing up my rough edges and having tons of fun creating childhood memories for our kids.
I guess I’m an adult now?
