Backache, Heartburn & T-Rex Arms
Posted by kara
Week 33. I’ve entered the uncomfortable stage. My back hurts most of the time. By the end of the day, making dinner pushes me over the edge into Backache Land. I try to combat it by laying down after dinner until I think most of the pain is gone. Thank goodness Paul takes over and watches Toshi from the minute he gets home.
I also have heartburn pretty much all the time. Although, that’s not as bad as feeling like the baby is pressing up against my bladder and tailbone. Heavy! I walk so slow now! And those adorable kicks have turned into crazy baby-on-steroids-jabs. I still like them… but I wish she’d relax more when I’m trying to fall asleep. That way I’d have more sleep despite waking up several times a night.
So the T-Rex arms… I can’t reach things anymore! (I guess I should be used to that since I’m short.) My belly gets in the way because it hits the counter. Sometimes I even stand sideways to wash dishes. And I’m glad soon I’ll be able to wear sandals or other lace-less shoes. Maybe I should teach Toshi to tie shoes…
I’m actually starting to look forward to having a newborn since it means I won’t have these pregnancy symptoms. I try not to remember all the newborn symptoms… but I do remember thinking that pregnancy was nothing compared to the newborn stage.
Ah, but it’s so worth it. It’s hard to believe that there will be another person in our little family. I know that all of us will love this baby so much and get so much joy from having another baby girl around.
So J, A, & M, have a baby! It’s all roses!
