She keeps going… and going… and going… potty at school. When I dropped Toshi off this morning, she wanted to use the potty. I helped her and she excitedly told her teacher that she used the potty. Then when I picked her up, they said she was using the potty. They said that she uses it ALL the time! I think she likes the praise from the teachers.
I talked to one of the teacher assistants, Ally, and she said that Toshi is doing so well and she’s such a good girl and she’s good at painting. Then I talked to Sara (the owner and one of the teachers) and she said that Toshi was so polite and doing a great job. When she said good-bye to her friends, most of them said, “Bye, Toshi!” So I think it’s going fine. She didn’t want to leave school today. (I had to actually use my serious voice to tell her she needed to listen or else we can’t come back to school.) Man, I wish I would have enrolled her in 3 days a week!
I love preschool days… I feel like I have 3.5 hours of precious time that I can fill with errands and walks and lunch. Today Martha and I went to the grocery store and it was so relaxing! I meandered around with Martha sleeping. I didn’t have to worry about Toshi running into someone’s cart or pulling food off the shelves. We also did a walk, but unfortunately, she didn’t stay asleep so my lunch was eaten while entertaining her. (I guess that is how Paul eats most of his dinners…)
Martha teased me by sleeping all night a couple nights ago. Then last night she was back to her middle-of-the-night wake-up. Today I got a grunty laugh out of her! I was just saying, “Coochi coochi coo!” and tickling her. But she really only laughed when I laughed. I love when it feels like we have our own inside jokes. I also think it’s funny how she’ll sleep through Toshi screaming, Meow being whipped at her face, and Toshi putting her lunchbag on Marfy’s legs (to protect from the rain of course), but then startle and cry when I turn the page of a book…
Here is a drawing Toshi did this morning. It’s a pic of Gordon in his shed. The big circle is the shed. There is a whistle above his face and a dome (red circle) to the right. And she drew four wheels! (Gordon has four wheels on each side.) Then she filled in the empty sheds with James and either Thomas or Percy, I can’t remember.
