3 Years Old

Posted by kara

Today Toshi had her 3 year old well-visit. I also made an appointment for Martha and her skin problems. Okay, Toshi first. It was the first time that she was measured and weighed standing up. I think. Maybe not. Probably not. A year ago seems so long. Anyway, she is 36.5″ tall (40th percentile) and 32 lbs. (50th percentile). She seemed right on target developmentally. Toshi does have a bit of eczema on her wrists and arms. The doctor thought it could be from washing hands a lot at preschool and having a drying soap. Plus she had eczema as a baby.

Speaking of eczema, poor Martha suffers from pretty bad eczema. She has it on her face (cheeks, eyes, chin), elbows, wrists, knees, ankles, upper chest, behind her ears, and her diaper area. I thought she had bad diaper rash, but really, it’s eczema. We got some prescription ointments, but the doctor said it would come and go for at least her first year, and maybe longer. I hope it’s not bothering her too much. She does scratch at it though. 🙁

Not much else. Toshi is already looking forward to Christmas, or her most favorite day of the year (as she calls it). I think her birthday presents got her riled up for Christmas presents. She also asked today if we could set up the Christmas tree. And sometimes she requests the Christmas station on the radio. Yeah, it’s going to be a good holiday this year!
