She can walk…

(…on her knees)

I dug out the car push toy to see if Martha would like walking around. It took a few tries before she stopped being mad at the purple wheel, and actually played with it. Then she reached up, and started walking on her knees… Not exactly what I had in mind, but it’s a step (or knee-step) in the right direction.

Also, she changes so fast, I take her new skills for granted. I shot this video mid-June and then watched it today and couldn’t figure out why I recorded it. I had to listen to the audio to figure out that it was because she was standing up more and learning to kneel down (instead of crying in frustration at being stuck standing up). So yeah… this is *so* two weeks ago, but hey, I was pretty excited at the time!

Now for some pictures. This was our sickly Father’s Day. Toshi took this pic of Paul and me. You’d never guess from Toshi’s couch leaps that she was a little sick. (We were using Toshi’s camera for these pics.)

My photoshoot with Marf in an outfit from Uncle Ken and Ann.

And then Toshi wanted me to get a picture of her in her pajamas.

And then she got dressed. And then there were tears.

Things here have been busy. I feel pretty behind on everything. But it’s nice weather and we’ve been getting out more. Martha likes wood chips and swinging. Toshi lives for playgrounds. We’ve also been hitting up the library for tons of books. I’m kind of obsessed with it. I love putting books on hold and recording them on Toshi’s summer reading list. I think I’m more into the program than she is. Okay. Time to go outside!
