March and April in a nutshell

Posted by kara

Home life has been at a good pace these past couple of months… watching the girls grow up and enjoying some good weather. Martha and Toshi are playing together for real and I think they both really like it. They like to put shoes on their feet and hands and crawl around, pretending they are dogs. They love playing Bambi Save Hide, where Paul pretends to be Man and chases after the hiding Bambi (Toshi) and Faline (Marf). They also now insist that only Paul can play Hike with them. Marf and Toshi line up against the dining room wall and then run toward the toy box, where Paul is sitting and he tosses them the spongy ball. Marf loves bike rides. Toshi loves making a bed in the toy box. Martha is talking more and more and is about 80% understandable.

Toshi has discovered a love for the bouncy house.

We went to a small children’s museum and Toshi insisted she loved it. I think she really meant to say she only loved the leaf house.

Easter was great. We did the zoo egg hunt, egg hunt here, egg hunt at Diego’s street, and egg hunt at my aunt’s. What more can you ask for?

The next day we celebrated 32 years of Kara. It was awesome. Paul took the day off and we ate our way through the day. Paul and Toshi schemed. Toshi picked breakfast, Paul kind of picked lunch (sandwiches at the playground), and I picked dinner with my bro at Tilth. It was a really perfect day for me.

A few days later, Toshi decided she wanted her hair cut. She asked me to cut it, so I did! As soon as I started hacking her hair, I felt like I was in over my head. I think it turned out fine (thank goodness for wavy hair), but she might have to start going to see a professional.

And in other news…
