Martha is 2!

Well, it’s official: my baby is a toddler. Oba and Oji came in to help celebrate (and pretty much put the party together). It was a grand old time.
Birthday Activities
1. Took Marf to the zoo. She became terrified of the elephant getting washed down (and now refuses to look for the elephants). She rode the carousel round and round, up and down. On the “purple” horsie.
2. Took the girls to the mall to play in the kid area. We really pulled out all the stops and even got her a cookie cake at Mrs. Fields.
3. I took Toshi to her friend Ava’s birthday party. Upon returning to my aunt’s house, we had dinner/gifts/cake. Marf loved her elephant gifts (pillow pet, huge beanbag, puppet), Tinkerbell gifts, Minnie Mouse toy, and outfits.
I was pretty pumped that Marf was down with elephants as a theme. I love that she got a million elephant gifts. Elephants are awesome! I just hope I can eke out one more non-princess/fairy/mermaid theme. Just kidding…
Party Day
It was nice. We ordered subs, AK made a great pasta salad, and of course, we had elephant cake! Toshi helped Martha open up the gifts at a crazy speed. Toshi picked out a purple cowboy hat from the dollar store. I think Martha’s favorite was a Minnie Mouse straw thermos. She pretty much only wants to drink from that all day every day. All the gifts were great though… soft elephant blanket/pillow, really cool books, cute outfits, oh, and the elephant backpack!
And what birthday would be complete without some family portraits?
Yup, my baby is all grown up. (Well, sorta, not really.) We love you, little Marfy! [P.S. I really wanted to write “Martha” on your cake in case you decide later you don’t like the nickname “Marf.” I ran out of room though.]
[Edit: Doctor stats for 7-19 were 33.75″ tall (50%), 24 lbs. 9oz. (25%), and 50.5 cm (95+%).]
