November Happenings: Marf’s Class, Family Visit, Toshi’s Birthday, Soccer

Posted by kara

November was pretty busy. In October, I had mentioned to Toshi’s preschool teacher that I was somewhat interested in Martha attending the Two’s Class. At the end of October she said there was an opening in the class. After a night of going back and forth on the idea of Martha being in the Two’s Class, Paul and I decided that it would be good for her. I know a big part of me not wanting to enroll her was just for my own sake. It is so much harder for me to see her becoming independent. I want to keep her small and toddler-y as long as possible. However, she needs to learn to share and follow rules. And so far, she LOVES school. It’s actually almost a problem because she only goes 2 days a week and Toshi goes 4. So on the two days that Toshi goes without her, drop-off is a little harder trying to get Marf out of there.

Marf’s first day was a little rushed, so her first day photo reflects that.

My family came to visit for Toshi’s 5th birthday party. Everyone had so much fun– Toshi and Gus ran around with Martha trailing after them. We went to Gig Harbor for the day. It was smaller than I thought, but beautiful. Penelope was so big and strong! Marf cried pretty hard when I held Penny. Luckily she had her Oba-Ka-Nobi to hold her. She really bonded with Oba and Oji in October, so she was excited to see them in November.

For Toshi’s real birthday, she got to open all her gifts from Paul’s family and have a special princess cake! This cake was DISGUSTING. Not because of the flavor, but because it had an insane amount of icing. The slope of the dress was done in icing. That meant that there was literally inch-thick icing around the bottom half of the cake. Toshi loved it though.

Her last birthday hurrah was Thanksgiving. We celebrated Katie’s and Toshi’s birthdays. Toshi got her beloved Jasmine doll. Yesterday we finally let her watch Aladdin, so now she knows Jasmine’s story.

And soccer. So cute.
